Beauty News and Reviews: Make-up Spree!

Good evening guys! Here we go again about to enter another week of work and tiresome projects! But at least I'll be looking human again after going on a well overdue makeup spree. I'm waiting for Urban Decay to bring out their new stuff so I'll be queueing up for that! But for now this is what I have bought. All from good old Boots of course!

Reviews
From left to right:

  • Nivea Lip care Gloss - This is without a doubt my handbag must have. Its small but spreads like wildfire! It completely re hydrates your lips and its not sticky. Its more fluid than most glosses and is on the market for just €2 (it also mixes in well with lipstick if you're looking for a bit of shine).
  • Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid - I have been using this foundation since the beginning of time. It is so unbelievably fantastic that i refuse to branch out. It suits my skin, lasts long and is up for grabs at just €11.99.
  • Black Canvas Foundation Buffer - This has been a recent venture as I got it in my Galway Bloggers goodie bag last week. But I have been using it none stop and it is just fabulous! It spreads foundation so evenly and gives it a gorgeous finish. Look them up! I strongly recommend it!
  • Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder - This has also become a new best friend recently. I LOVE IT. It  was recommended to me by a few girls in college and it was so worth it. It gives a beautiful matte finish to you foundation and gets rid of any shiny areas. It has kept my makeup in place all week. You'd swear it was magic! This was around a fiver if I recall correctly.
  • BarryM Black Liquid Eyeliner - This is the only liquid liner that I have ever used and I have no reason to go changing it now. Its got a really fine applicator brush and tries quite quickly. I just would not survive without it. This goes for around €7.
  • Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer - This was another new adventure and it is just fab. It's a highlighting concealer so we can all say goodbye to dark eyes for just €5.39.
  • Black Canvas Concealer Brush - Another goodie bag treat. Again, the black canvas brush range are brill. This blends your concealer in so beautifully with your foundation to make your skin look absolutely flawless.
  • Soap and Glory thick and fast Mascara - This was another recommendation made to me and I am so happy that it was! This mascara makes your eyelashes look so full and long. It's non-clumpy and is only around €10.
*Side note. BarryM, Soap and Glory and Miss Sporty are all buy* one get one half price in Boots!

News
I got gel nails done for the first time on Friday and I am in LOVE. Check out Gel Nails Galway on facebook and give her a ring. She is brilliant!!

Beauty: News and Reviews!

Good evening everyone! Well I hope that you have had a lovely Tuesday. ONLY 3 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE WEEKEND...........not that I'm counting. Anyway, as you know I was at the bloggers party in Galway on Saturday and got to try out some really cool products. So I'm going to keep it simple and familiar for this first beauty post.

Who likes Urban Decay? Well if you're a woman then it's a way of life, not a question. Some of you already know that I was able to try out some of their new products on Saturday (they will be hitting Irish shelves in the coming weeks) and I am in love. Would you believe that I have never actually owned any Urban Decay make up because I thought the Airport was the only place in Ireland that did them (what is wrong with me?) but it turn out that Debenhams has recently added and Urban Decay stall to their makeup department. I no longer have to steal them off my best friend (thank you Jean for providing me with your services).

Out of all the products that I was able to try on Saturday, the Shattered holiday palette was without a doubt my favourite! Urban Decay have two holiday palettes coming out. One of them being the Shattered Palette and the other called Anarchy. The Shattered palette comes with the Urban Decay zero eye pencil and a Love Child Lip pencil (rosey colour). You also have a variety between a matte colour, a shimmer and a smokey eye combination which I have always been a big fan of. The compartment under the eye palette gives you the option between a peach and rose colour blush along with a gorgeous pearl shimmer. It's a fabulous palette and I shall be popping into Debenhams this week to put one on hold. They're predicted to be a Christmas sell out!

Galway Bloggers Party!!!

Afternoon everyone! Well isn't it just a glorious day? Decided to blog in my brand new onesie which I am now considering as my second skin.

For those of you who follow me on my facebook page, you would have seen that I was at the Galway Bloggers Party yesterday afternoon. It was mighty fun all together! I got to meet some really cool bloggers who I idolise and even had a few people come up to me saying how much they loved my blog (it was hard not to cry and kill them with hugs). The fashion show was also fabulous and the clothes were just as amazing! Portabello and Cotton Face Vintage were among the many stalls at the event and also showed some outfits in the show.

I was chatting to the Urban Decay make up artist and got to look at and try some new products that are going to hit Debenhams shelves in the coming weeks. I was even asked if i would be interested in attending a bloggers event with them so here's hoping. Their new pallettes and foundations are incredible and I know for a fact that I'll be going in this week to put them on hold. I didn't even know that Debenhams had an Urban Decay stand! There's this months pay check gone already!

I ended up getting to the party earlier than expected so I was able to get myself a lovely goodie bag. Here's what was in it :)

Lot's of blogger's business cards, flyers and an intro letter to the event.

Two black canvas makeup brushes that I am absolutely in love with!

John Freida hair volume spray that I am looking forward to trying.

We all know what this is and I just love it!! Frizz be gone!

The absolute highlight of the day was getting to meet all the other bloggers. It was so nice to put a face with all the blogs I read and to actually chat to them about their journey. A huge thank you to Rebecca Casserly from Bec Boop Fashionista World. There was only one woman fit for the job that came with organizing this event and it couldn't have been done better than what you accomplished.
So without further adieu, here are some more piccys from my day at the Galway Bloggers party <3

Aisling Owens from Walking Primrose and Meghan Jones from Meghan Mode (I've linked them below)

Meghan and I once again (I LOVE HER)

Myself and the absolutely lovely Robin McGonigle from Jewel Studded Grunge (linked below).

I was hanging out with this lot for most of the day so be sure to check out their blogs and give them a LIKE on their facebook pages!

Much Love,
Shannon.

Pardon the Purchases

Afternoon all!! Please excuse my absence on both my blog and facebook page over the past couple of days! Between my birthday, going up to Dublin and then recovering from a kidney infection, I've been rather tired. But I'm all good and back on track! Still having difficulty choosing an outfit for the Galway Blogger's Party though!

Anyway! I've bought a significant amount of things this week between birthday, work and savings money. I was up in Dublin and ended up coming home with only two items from the high street. Didn't find much that caught my eye and I wasn't in the best shopping mood considering the infection started that day (yay...) But I have been going slightly wild on the boohoo website recently. The postman and I have even started leaving each other notes about where to leave the packages when I'm not here :P Also, would you believe that I went into Forever 21 for the first time last weekend! It's HUGE and I really loved the decor and layout of the whole thing.

So here are the laaaaaavly clothes I've invested in this week :D

Blouse: €22 in Forever 21

Midi Dress: €22 from boohoo.com

Over sized blazer coat: €25 in Penneys

Lace pattern dress: €8 in Penneys Sale

 Studded Boots: €22 on boohoo.com

There's another dress on the way from boohoo as we speak. Serious relapse. I was so good at not spending money and now look!!

Much Love,
Shannon.

Tartan Attacks!

Hello sugarplums! Well I don't know about you guys but these 9am mornings are kicking my backside! My body is in such shock that I'm full of energy until about 2pm and then I completely crash. Ah well, we all need a hobby ;)

So I'm sure that all of you have noticed the amount of tartan and leopard print attacking the high street. Who would have predicted such an unlikely match for Autumn/Winter 2013? Well I am totally okay with it considering they are two of my favourite prints. However, they can be difficult when it comes to styling them right to suit your own personality. In my opinion, tartan is quite innocent and preppy. It could look great with a pair of biker boots, minimal makeup and some cool accessories. On the other hand, leopard print is wild and very much out there. Try and team it with some black jeans/skirt and some heels to make it look ultra glamorous. If you over power either of these prints it can be a big wardrobe no no (none of us want to go through that).

I am loving the tartan dress that is available in Penneys at the moment. It would look really cool with a pair of small heeled boots or a pair of creepers as well as a simple black leather jacket.

Asos.com also offers a load of tartan clothing so take a look if you dare ;)

Lastly, I don't think any brunette or a dark red head can go wrong with a leopard print top/blouse. I have 3 and I always wear them with black pieces and bronze accessories. The blouses look great with a pair of black pants or tucked into a high waisted shirt (pencil or skater).

Long sleeved leopard print blouses are also available in Next, Born Galway and Penneys :D

Happy Styling!
Much Love,
Shannon.

Adulthood? Bitch please.....

Hello my lovelies! So this week is the last week of my 18th year and well, what a year it has been. I really feel like my time of teen hood is coming to an end :( More has happened this year than I could have ever imagined. My blog is not even a year old and I've reached over 5000 views and over 200 LIKES on Facebook, so thank you <3 I just thought I'd throw a bit of a picture diary together for those of you who are still getting to know me. I'm going to start it with a few pictures from my 18th last August!

It was then followed by an amazing trip to LaHinch with all my friends. We hid from everyone until the day before the LC results!

Next came the Debs. I swore to myself that I would wear a dress like Cinderella's and that I did.

It was quiet for a while until College began. That's what has taken up the guts of this year. And the people I met had a little something to do with it :P We also went to Paris on a trip which was amazing!

I made a tumblr account and began blogging. I then created my blog on blogspot on the 29th of December and I had no clue what it was going to lead to.

I then had the opportunity to style my first photoshoot with Lisa Griffin, appear in the GTI fashion fiesta with my own design and attend the New Look bloggers event!

The year then came to a close as well as my search for a job. I finally got a permanent part time job in NEXT and I love it.

I ended the summer with a short trip back to LaHinch with friends both old and new. It was so much fun and I would go again in the morning. Ireland really is magical when you look in the right places.

And now, here I am. I'm preparing for college next week and my trip up to Dublin next Sunday to see Macklemore for my birthday. I'm currently working on setting up a YouTube channel with my best friend as well as filming a few vlogs for it.
